Volkswagen has unveiled the 2011 Jetta, which is bigger than its predecessor and, quite frankly, has a striking resemblance to the Passat CC. Note, for example, the strong shoulders emphasizing the wheel wells and the large, homogeneous surfaces. In the front there are strong horizontals. Note the transition of the V-shaped hood to the fenders.

Dimensionally, it is bigger than its predecessor, with an overall length of 182.7 in., a height of 57.1 in., and a width of 70.1 in. Four engines will be offered, including a 2.0-liter turbodiesel direct injection (TDI) diesel. A transmission option will be a six-speed DSG.

The car is expected to start at around $16,000.
