2012 Car Sales in Russia
Car and light-truck sales in Russia grew 11% to a record 2.94 million units in 2012, according to the Moscow-based Assn. of European Businesses. All the top 10 sellers were produced locally.
But the AEB notes that sales rose only 1% in December year on year. It cautions that 2013 shows "little promise" for a return to double-digit growth. The group predicts little or no expansion until 2014 or beyond.
