Manufacturers today can solve problems faster and more accurately by collaborating in new ways, says John Flavin, Infor's executive vice president, Global Manufacturing Solutions.

Infor borrows elements of social media so users can create problem-solving mini networks. These circles link relevant colleagues and real-time external feeds of such data as materials pricing. The result is efficient collaboration that also captures institutional knowledge, Flavin says.
