Rather, it is an artist’s rendition of what the Jaguar Land Rover Engine Manufacturing Center will look like after £450-million has been invested to expand it to 200,000 square meters, double its present size—and it should be pointed out that the announced expansion comes just a year after the plant opened.
During the past 12 months, they’ve built 50,000 engines that can be found under the hoods of vehicles including the Jaguar XE and the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque.
The key powertrain produced is the Ingenium four-cylinder engine.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO, Dr. Ralf Speth: said: “The Engine Manufacturing Centre is a strategically significant facility for Jaguar Land Rover. The decision to expand our operations at the site provides a clear signal of our commitment to meeting customer demand for cleaner and more efficient engines, whilst developing the skills and capability that Britain needs if it is to remain globally competitive.”
