A new five-axis production milling and turning center, the CP 8000, has been developed by Heller Machine Tools (heller-us.com) to handle large parts, as it handles pallets measuring 800 x 800 mm and has a work envelope of 1,250 x 1,250 x 1,400 mm (X, Y, Z). The maximum loading capacity is 2,000 kg, and the machine features a system that uses drive-internal signals to determine whether there is imbalance in the workpiece or rotary table and then makes adjustments to correct it. The CP 8000 can generate external or internal turning contours on a part using the C- or A- and B-axes.  It is fitted with a 57-hp (43-kW) spindle.
