Mercedes & More Run Off-Road Race. Where?
So when the three of them are going to hold a final race for the auto motor und sport-organized Offroad Challenge 2010 with German drivers who were putting the Mercedes G-Class through the most punishing of paces, where did they run it?
Uvale, Texas, of course.
(In case you’re wondering: It’s about 85 miles west of San Antonio.)
There were preliminaries run in Germany: Brandenburg, Rheinland-Pfalz, and Bavaria. The winners of each of those events—which were run in GLK, M-Class, GL-Class, and M-Class vehicles, all fitted with Continental tires—then traveled to Texas.
Continental has a test track in Uvale, which explains the location.
It also just goes to show that when it comes to off-roading, the U.S. is the place to be.
