Michigan is promoting mobility development through its PlanetM (planetm.com) initiative, which touts the state’s capabilities, connects companies and startups, and fosters advanced mobility activations, says Trevor Pawl, who heads business development for the initiative, a program of the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

At this year’s Detroit auto show in June, for example, PlanetM will back demonstrations of autonomous shuttles that circulate between the city and Detroit Metropolitan Airport and within the central city area.

PlanetM also is encouraging young professionals to launch their careers in Michigan. The reason? “The assets, jobs, customers and really cool work are here,” Pawl says.
