The $5 Trillion Mobility Market
Mobility Consultant, Andreas Mai says the market for advanced mobility goods and services will total at least $5 trillion over the next 10 years
The market for advanced mobility goods and services will total at least $5 trillion over the next 10 years, says Andreas Mai, a mobility consultant and former director of Smart Connected Vehicles at Cisco Systems Inc.
Mai's estimate is based on five emerging markets: advanced driver assist features, intelligent transportation systems, mobility services, connected vehicles and self-driving cars. He describes the calculation as conservative in terms of impact and the number of vehicles involved. Even a 1% increase in those categories would hike the overall value of advanced mobility by 33%.
Mazda, the Little Car Company That Can, has been working on a number of important fronts of late.
Elio Motors is something of a brash company.
In-car video shows that the backup pilot of an Uber Technologies self-driving car was not watching the road just before the vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian last Sunday night.
