Urgent Innovation Needed
The auto industry faces more change in the next five years than it has seen in the past 20 years, says Anil Valsan, global automotive and transportation lead analysts for EY.
Coping with the accelerated pace means finding and deploying talent in new areas such as advanced mobility, data management and artificial intelligence. Valsan says the industry is rushing to gather the niche talent it needs through partnerships and acquisitions.
But to move fast enough, carmakers and their suppliers must learn to fail, but fail quickly—and identify winning propositions equally quickly, he adds.
