Why Hatches May Matter
For years, the prevailing wisdom in Detroit was that Americans didn't want small cars. Especially not those small cars with hatches instead of trunks.
And because they knew that young(ish) people sometimes like to have vehicular fun in their cars, the manufacturers built modifiable cars that can go really fast. Generally in a straight line. They still do. * * *
Maybe this is changing with the introduction of such products as the Ford Fiesta (and the Mazda2, although it is not from Detroit).
Ask yourself this after watching this video of racer of Ken Block in a Fiesta on a track in France: Could someone have more fun driving a car than this?
