ZF’s “See,” “Think” and “Act” Strategy
Germany’s ZF Friedrichshafen AG aims to be a global leader in automated driving, integrated safety and electronic mobility, says Mamatha Chamarthi, the company’s chief digital officer.
ZF describes its products in three broad categories. “Act” refers to mechanical actuators. “See” references the use of cameras and connectivity. “Think” alludes to the technology required to process data flowing to and from technologies in the other two categories.
ZF is pursuing its goals in part through non-equity alliances. Chamarthi adds that the company uses digital technology to help its tech centers in Germany, Czech Republic, India, Poland and U.S. work together virtually.
