Chery Teams Up with Quanergy on Lidar, Smart City Tech
China’s Chery Automobile Co. has selected Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Quanergy Systems Inc. to be its lidar partner for future autonomous vehicles.
In addition to in-vehicle sensors, Quanergy also will work with Chery to develop lidar and artificial intelligence-based connected vehicle technologies for smart cities. The vehicle-to-infrastructure systems will be integrated with emerging 5G communication systems to reduce congestion and improve safety, according to the partners.
Quanergy claims its S3 solid-state lidar is the industry leader in performance, reliability and price. The company was founded in 2012.
