Deliveries of Chinese-Made Teslas Due in January
Tesla Inc. says it will begin retail deliveries of cars built by its new factory in Shanghai by mid-January, the Xinhua news service reports.
The first batch of Model 3 electric sedans assembled at the factory appeared this week at Tesla-run showrooms in China. The car also is on display at the Guangzhou auto show that opened today.
But Xinhua says none of the display cars can be driven on public roads yet, because they lack government certification paperwork to do so.
