GM Sponsors Exhibit at Ford Museum
General Motors Co. is donating $5 million to The Henry Ford historical foundation.
Founded by Ford Motor Co. patriarch Henry Ford in 1929, the independent nonprofit group now encompasses the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village, Ford Rouge Factory Tour, Benson Ford Research Center and The Henry Ford Giant Screen Experience. About 1.8 million people per year visit the five attractions in Dearborn, Mich.
GM will sponsor an exhibit space in the museum designed to promote education, careers and accomplishments in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Mark Reuss, GM's head of global product development, purchasing and supply chain, joined the foundation’s board of trustees last year. He explains GM’s contribution to an organization created by a longtime rival by noting the museum is a celebration of American innovation. “You can't tell that story without General Motors and Ford together," he says.
