Magna International Inc. says it has received a long-term contract from BMW AG to supply dual-clutch transmissions for 150 of the carmaker’s model variants.

Describing the award as its largest transmission production order ever, Magna says the gearboxes will be used in all future front-wheel-drive BMW Group models.
The program includes vehicles with hybrid-electric powertrains, which will integrate a 48-volt electric motor within the transmission housing.
Magna will manufacture the transmissions at its facilities in Neuenstein, Germany, and Kechnec, Slovakia. It isn’t clear how long the contract will run.
