Startup Nikola Motor Co. has filed a lawsuit claiming that Tesla Inc.’s Semi electric truck design is a copy of its own Nikola One and Two hydrogen-powered trucks, Reuters reports.

Salt Lake City-based Nikola asks for more than $2 billion in penalties. the company asserts that six U.S. patents cover the configuration of its trucks’ expansive windshield, fuselage, aerodynamic fenders, side cladding and large side entry door.

Nikola, which announced its fuel cell-powered trucks two years ago, aims to begin selling them in 2021. The Nikola One is a highway cruiser with sleeper cab. The shorter-cab Nikola Two is designed for day trips.

Tesla asserts that Nikola’s claim is without merit. Tesla unveiled its Semi in November and says it will begin producing the highway hauled in 2019.
