Tesla Unveils First Official China-Built EVs
Tesla Inc. has unveiled the first official batch of Model 3 electric sedans produced at its giant assembly complex in Shanghai.
The $2 billion facility is the first wholly owned foreign auto plant in China and Tesla’s first full assembly facility outside California. Tesla broke ground on the factory in January and officially opened it two weeks ago.
The complex eventually will have capacity to make as many as 300,000 EVs annually and supply other Asian markets, according to CEO Elon Musk. Output of Model 3 sedans is expected to be expanded in about one year to include the Tesla Model Y crossover variant.
Many countries who once were major players from a vehicle production/export perspective are finding it difficult to even find their niche today.
Honda is an engine company.
Generally, when OEMs produce aluminum engine blocks (aluminum rather than cast iron because cast iron weighs like cast iron), they insert sleeves into the piston bores—cast iron sleeves.
