New Software for Material Selection

Granta Design has launched the latest version of its material information management system, GRANTA MI v. 5, with several new capabilities, including: Material substitution. Helps ID candidate replacement materials due to issues including cost, performance, supply chain issues, or environmental regulations.Materials data management. Allows the administration of multiple databases (e.g., approved materials; external references; composite and metal test data) in a single system.Restricted substances. Helps avoid the use of restricted materials and provides tools to enable analysis via Granta reference data.Engineering design. Provides up-to-date materials data in the input required by CAD and CAE systems.New data. Updated reference information for materials including fiber reinforced composites and new automotive steels is included.
